 HOW IT all began (accidentally)

Hi! I’m Stacy Lazzara, a marketing executive, wife, and mama to two young daughters who—through a serendipitous turn of events—has become known for my whimsical, colorful, and often interactive murals. I have no formal art background or training, so let me tell you how my whirlwind of an art journey began!

In March of 2020, near the start of COVID-19 quarantine, I was cruising the internet (as one does), and stumbled upon the idea for an interactive chalk drawing. “What a fun excuse to get outside and entertain my two young daughters (and let’s be honest—myself) for an hour!” I thought.

I had so much fun creating that first piece, and the feedback was so overwhelmingly positive, that I soon began chalking daily to bring smiles to the faces of my family, friends, and neighbors. A few short weeks later, our chalk series unexpectedly went viral (check out the TODAY Show segment above—I’m still pinching myself!).

As our audience grew, it warmed my heart to hear that our artwork was bringing joy to so many during a difficult and isolating time. My youngest daughter Averie was just finishing 2.5 years of treatment for Leukemia, and my chalk series felt like a beautiful way to pay forward all of the love and kindness our family had been shown throughout her medical journey. I ended that summer with over 70 chalk pieces created in our own driveway, plus a handful drawn on location for local Make-a-Wish kids.

Today, I’ve taken my love for creating custom murals and expanded it beyond driveways and into businesses, homes, and communities using both chalk and paint as my mediums. Prior to picking up that first piece of sidewalk chalk, I spent 15+ years in marketing, helping brands meaningfully connect with their audiences. By pairing my passions together, I’m excited to not only visually transform spaces, but also help to create memorable experiences in the places we live, work, and play.
